Ausländische Mitbürger

1. Visit the web site of the Begegnungszentrum für Ausländer und Deutsche in Ibbenbüren (http://www.begegnungszentrum-ibbenbueren.de) Here foreigners can get support for all kinds of issues, including gouding, work, language learning, cultural integration, financial aid, education, etc. In German.

2. To visit memorials to the victims of the Nazi regime, visit the Gedenkstätten für NS-Opfer (http://www.dhm.de/ausstellungen/ns_gedenk/). Click on the map to find out about a memorial in a particular area of Germany. This is a page from Deutsches Historisches Museum (http://www.dhm.de/). In German.

3. Many German cities and organizations sponsor festivals to encourage and celebrate multiculturalism. One of the largest festivals is sponsored by Initiative Toleranz e.V. (http://toleranz.site.de/). On this site you'll find more than 100 photos of one of their festivals.

4. Many of the universities have sites for foreign students and multicultural clubs as well as pages for the Akademisches Auslandsamt, which advises foreign students in Germany. You may want to start with the University of Mainz page (http://www.fh-mainz.de/alldi/akada.htm). In German.
